My personal recommendation to enhance your reading would be to;

1. invest a minimum of 15 to 30 minutes per day (undisturbed) reading an article that would be interest you;
2. look for interesting choice of words, phrases, etc.;
3. make a note of these;
4. if you are not sure of the meaning of it, Google it, and understand how it can be used in a sentence;
5. use it appropriately the next time you speak or write.
